BBVA bank token on Visa Tokenized Asset Platform

Visa's Tokenized Asset Platform gives banks tools to mint, burn and transfer fiat-backed tokens. BBVA, the first named bank, tested issuing, moving and redeeming a bank token and having it interact with smart contracts in the VTAP sandbox through 2024, and planned a live pilot with selected customers on public Ethereum in 2025. No source found confirms that the live pilot ran.
