Bank of England RTGS (RT2)New

The Bank of England's real-time gross settlement service, which holds sterling reserve and settlement accounts and settles payments in central bank money; its renewed core ledger, RT2, went live on 28 April 2025. The Bank is building a synchronisation capability for RT2 so that payments in central bank money can settle together with transfers on external asset ledgers. Not a distributed ledger: it is listed so that synchronisation links to tokenised asset platforms can be shown.
