BNY tokenised depositsNew
BNY mirrors institutional clients' demand deposits as on-chain book entries on its own private, permissioned blockchain, starting with collateral and margin workflows, so cash can move outside banking hours. Client balances stay recorded on BNY's traditional systems. Launched in January 2026 as a live pilot; early participants named in coverage include Baillie Gifford, Circle, Citadel Securities, Galaxy, Ripple Prime, Invesco and WisdomTree. ICE said it was working with BNY towards using the deposits at its clearing houses.
Pilot since 9 Jan 2026[1][2] — Described as a first step and a live pilot with a limited group of institutions; no volumes published. · Reviewed 11d ago
