USDC payments on Shopify Payments
Since June 2025 Shopify merchants using Shopify Payments can accept USDC on Base at checkout, built with Coinbase and Stripe and using an escrow smart contract developed with Coinbase for authorisation and later capture. By default the USDC is converted and paid out in the merchant's local currency, or merchants can withdraw USDC to their own wallet. Stripe said it would be available to merchants in 34 countries.
