Open-source proof-of-stake public blockchain whose block producers ('bakers') stake XTZ, with holders able to delegate to them; it upgrades its own protocol by on-chain voting, without hard forks. Smart Rollups (including Etherlink) run as layer 2s on it. Genesis block 30 June 2018.
