NYSE rule change enabling trading of tokenised securities (SR-NYSE-2026-17)
A NYSE rule change, approved by the SEC with immediate effect, that lets tokenised versions of eligible stocks and ETFs trade on the same order book and CUSIP as ordinary shares. Members flag a tokenisation preference with a chain and wallet; trades settle T+1 at DTC, which then tokenises. NYSE must give 30 days' notice before going live.
In force · effective 17 Apr 2026 · part of SEC framework for tokenised securities and crypto assets (federal securities laws, staff statements and exemptive relief)
