BLOOM (Borderless, Liquid, Open, Online, Multi-currency)New
A Monetary Authority of Singapore initiative, building on Project Orchid, that works with banks and payment firms to settle domestic and cross-border payments using tokenised commercial bank money and regulated stablecoins across several currencies. Launched October 2025 with Circle, DBS, OCBC, Partior, Stripe and UOB on settlement asset distribution and clearing, Ant International and StraitsX on programmable compliance controls, and Coinbase and DBS on agentic payments. Visa and Nium are piloting seven-day, US dollar and euro stablecoin settlement under BLOOM. Bank Negara Malaysia and the Bank of Thailand joined as policymaker members in October 2026.
Pilot since 16 Oct 2025[1] — MAS's own launch release frames the named firms as working on focus areas and invites others to run trials; the Visa/Nium stablecoin settlement trial is the pilot evidence. · Reviewed 1d ago
