Visa stablecoin settlement for issuers and acquirersUpdated 28 Oct 2026
Visa lets card issuers and acquirers settle what they owe to, or are owed by, VisaNet in stablecoins such as USDC over public blockchains, seven days a week, rather than by bank wire on business days. It runs in Latin America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and CEMEA, and since December 2025 in the US, where Cross River Bank and Lead Bank were the first banks. Visa reported nine supported chains by April 2026 and an annualised settlement run rate above $20 billion by September 2026, though it still describes parts of the programme as pilots.
Live (limited) since Dec 2025[3] — Real settlement flows with production clients, but Visa still calls it a pilot and US availability was limited to some states at launch; not open to all issuers and acquirers. · Reviewed 11d ago
