Circle's EVM layer 1 blockchain, launched on mainnet in September 2026 by Circle's subsidiary Arc Network Services. Fees are paid in USDC; blocks are produced under proof of authority by a permissioned founding validator cohort that includes BlackRock, DTCC, Galaxy, ICE, Mastercard, MoneyGram, SBI Group, Standard Chartered, Sumitomo Corporation, Visa and Worldpay. Circle says it may move to proof of stake in 2027 and is building opt-in confidential transfers.
