It is the neutral quote token of Tempo's built-in stablecoin exchange, so any dollar token can be routed to any other, and a fallback token for network fees; Tempo recommends OUSD rather than pathUSD for holding and payments. Minted by depositing USDC.e and redeemed to USDC through Bridge, backed one to one by dollar reserves. About $45 million was in circulation in October 2026.
