Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol: sends messages and tokens between blockchains, verified by Chainlink's decentralised oracle networks. Issuers enable a token through its Cross-Chain Token standard, using burn-and-mint or lock-and-release pools with rate limits, and can attach instructions for the receiving contract. Native USDC routes on CCIP run over Circle's CCTP. The protocol is also recorded as a standard (chainlink-ccip); this record is the running service and the chains it connects. Its directory lists 78 mainnet chains in October 2026, including Canton; networks not yet in the register are left out.
